QLD State Nomination Requirements
Minimum Requirements
You must comply with the Department of Home Affairs’s criteria which are as follows:
- Be under 45 years old
- Achieve a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation
- Achieve 65 points or higher in the skilled migration points test
- Achieve ‘Competent” English skills (or higher as required by the assessing authority)
- Comply with Migration Queensland’s nomination criteria.
190 Visa State Nomination Requirements
Offshore Skilled Workers
You must:
- Have at least ‘Competent’ English (or higher for some specific occupations)
- Achieve a points-test score of at least 75 (at least 70 for trades occupations)
- Meet the minimum required years of work experience for an occupation on the Queensland Skilled Occupation List.
- Provide proof of full-time (30 hours per week minimum), continuous and ongoing work experience in your nominated occupation.
- Be committed to live and work in Queensland for two years from date of arrival
- Not currently hold a 491 or 489 visa, or have not applied for a 491 or 489 visa
For Skilled Workers in Queensland:
You must:
- Have at least ‘Competent’ English (or higher for some specific occupations)
- Achieve a points-test score of at least 75 (at least 70 for trades occupations)
- Have an eligible occupation in the list of eligible skilled occupations LIN19/051
- Currently live in Queensland
- Be currently employed full-time for at least 30 hours a week in your nominated or closely related occupation for 3 months
- Your employer must have an office in Queensland since virtual offices are not counted
- Provide proof of ongoing employment for a further 12 months
- Commit to living and working in Queensland for two years from visa grant
- Not currently hold a 491 or 489 visa, or have not applied for a 491 or 489 visa
For Graduates of a Queensland University
You must:
- Be currently in Queensland
- Have completed your studies in Queensland
- Have graduated in the last two years
- Achieve a points-test score of at least 75 (inclusive of state nomination points)
- Have an eligible occupation on the LIN19/051 for the 190 visa pathway
- For PhD or Doctorate Graduates, have had a positive decision on thesis
- For Master Graduates in STEM or agriculture fields, be currently employed full-time for at least 30 hours a week in your nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation)
- For Master Graduates not in STEM or agriculture fields:
- achieve at least GPA 6.0
- be employed full-time for at least 30 hours a week in your nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation)
- For Bachelor Graduates
- achieve at least GPA 6.0
- be employed full-time for at least 30 hours a week in your nominated occupation (or ANZSCO Skill Level 1 occupation)
- Not currently hold a 491 or 489 visa, or have not been nominated or applied for a 491 or 489 visa
491 Visa State Nomination
For Offshore Skilled Workers
You must:
- Have at least ‘Competent’ English (or higher for some specific occupations)
- Achieve a points-test score of at least 65
- Meet the minimum required years of work experience for an occupation on the Queensland Skilled Occupation List.
- Provide proof of full-time (30 hours per week minimum), continuous and ongoing work experience in your nominated occupation.
