Visa Conditions

As the visa applicant, you must,

• in most cases, hold a temporary Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309)
• in most cases, continue to be in a genuine and ongoing relationship with your partner

Visa Eligibility

• You must hold a Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309) or a Dependent Child (subclass 445) visa.
• Usually, two years must have passed since you applied for the combined 309 and 100 visas for you to be assessed for the permanent visa.
• You must continue to be the spouse or de facto partner of the same person who sponsored you for the temporary visa.
• You must not have any debt to pay to the Australian government.
• With under 18 applicants, it must be in the best interest of them.

General Notes

• You can include members of the family unit in your application when you apply for the combined temporary and permanent visas.
• If, at the time you apply, you have been in a long term relationship with your partner, your permanent Partner visa (subclass 100) will be granted immediately after the temporary Partner visa (subclass 309).

Visa Processing Time

The processing time for the subclass 100 visa can take from six (6) months to thirty-two (32) months. Bear in mind that the duration starts at the 2-year mark after applying the combined temporary and permanent partner visa.
