Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) is back again as DAMA II and to a pleasant surprise to many, DAMA II visa holders can now apply for their “Permanent Residency”, unlike the previous DAMA where there was no pathway to the Permanent Residency.
The new NT DAMA II Occupation list has an addition of 36 new occupations including :
- Bookkeeper
- Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher
- Excavator Operator
- Forklift Driver
- Hardware Technician
- Hotel or Motel Receptionist
- ICT Customer Support Officer
- ICT Support Technician NEC
- Marketing Specialist
- Metal Fabricator
- Motor Vehicle or Caravan Salesperson
- Motor Vehicle Parts and Accessories Fitter (General)
- Out of School Hours Care Worker
- Panel beater
- Pharmacy Technician
- Plumber (General)
- Property Manager
- Therapy Aide
- Web Administrator
- Web Designer,
- others
This new migration agreement was signed on 1st January 2019 and has altogether 117 occupations where the employers can recruit skilled migrants. Some occupations from last DAMA that still makes it to the DAMA II list are:
